Hi! My name is Ken Muck, and I'm the Senior Pastor at Countryside Bible Church. Thanks for stopping by our website. We hope that you'll make plans to visit our church if you haven't had a chance to do so already. I hope that you sense, as we do, that God is really at work here in our church. In fact, that's why we gather: to minister to the Lord, to worship Him, and to see Him working in our lives through the power of His Word.
The purpose of this site is to give you some information. We want to tell you about the different ministries we've developed to minister to you and to your family here at Countryside. I want to assure you at the outset that there is a place for you in our fellowship. This is a place where you're going to be challenged to grow. This is a place where you're going to be loved. And this is a place where you can connect with other believers in meaningful relationships that will help you follow Christ more effectively.
I'd like to tell you a little bit of the history of this church. It began in 1979 with two purposes.
The first is to tell you that you can know for sure that you're going to Heaven because there is Good News. The Good News is that Jesus Christ paid for your sin, died in your place, took your sin upon Him because you cannot earn your way to Heaven. It only takes one sin to keep us from going to Heaven. So, since we're not good enough to get there, Christ came to Earth and died in our place. We can accept Him as our savior and receive the free gift of eternal life and the forgiveness of our sin. That's what makes someone a Christian.
That leads to the second purpose for our church. Once you are a Christian, you need to grow. The second purpose for this church is to teach you the Word of God, apply it to your life, and help you grow in that relationship you have with God by faith in Jesus Christ.
So that is why this church began, and that is why it continues to this day.
I hope that this has been a good introduction to this site, but we have a lot more really neat information on the rest of this site because we have a wonderful group of committed believers using their gifts here at Countryside. I hope you are excited about the many opportunities we have for you. I know that we are because I see God using us to make a powerful impact in the lives of His people. And maybe the Lord is using you to be a part of this family!
